I am using OpenMap 4.6.5. One of our users entered a MGRS value of "14QFJ12345678" - which is an invalid MGRS coordinate. MGRSPoint accepted this string and converted it to a LatLonPoint. "14Q" places the point in Mexico. The LatLonPoint was in Cuba.
