[OpenMap Users] shape layer areas and points

Hello,

Could use some advise on how to approach a certain problem involving
two data sources:
1) ESRI shape layer data showing 1000 small areas on a map (using
AreaShapeLayer).
2) Several OMgraphics (from another source) on the map.

We're asking the following question: Given an OMGraphic point, what
area in the ESRI shape layer does the point fall in?

Thanks in advance for sharing any experience or ideas on this problem.
