[OpenMap Users] new to openmap

hi all,

      i am new to openmap.my requirement is as follows.

      i need to develop a stand alone mapping application.it should be
able to show a world map as in OpenMap application .up on clicking a
particular country it should show its map & states and finer
details..

can any one provide me some hints on doing this.thanx in advance..
