[OpenMap Users] Hiding layers using SimpleHttpImageServer

I haven't looked deep into the code yet, but is it possible to selectively (via URL params) show/hide certain layers when requesting images from the SimpleHttpImageServer? If this is not supported out-of-the-box, where should this implementation be made? Are there threading issues involved?
