[OpenMap Users] London maps? Free maps (UK cities)?

Hello group,

does somebody know good (and free) sources map content about London UK? I
would need one map about the city centre of London like:

1) A image file about the very city centre of London
2) A ESRI shape file about the London city centre (I guess this is quite
difficult)

What about other cities in UK? I realised that map content is extremely
difficult to get and everybody wants to make money. Does somebody know sources or
projects which intend to provide freely available data?
