[OpenMap Users] Using VPFFeatureGraphicWarehouse

Don,

Thanks for the pointer regarding vpfserver. I have this running with
tomcat and it is very helpful in navigating the Vpf database.

In extending VPFLayerGraphicWarehouse I am still unable to get the
feature class ( eg "builtupa" ) using the List object as a reference
to another table ( "fcs" table ).

My best bet is probably to extend VPFFeatureGraphicWarehouse. As you
mentioned the createArea method in VPFFeatureGraphicWarehouse contains
the feature class. However, I was not able to figure out how to use
the VPFFeatureGraphicWarehouse.

If adding a VpfLayer to the MapBean calls VPFLayerGraphicWarehouse how
do I get the program to use VPFFeatureGraphicWarehouse instead?

Thanks again.

 Regards,
 Mike Harrison

Hi Mike,

If you extend the VPFFeatureGraphicWarehouse, the createArea method
gets called with the feature name of the area. For the other
warehouse, I think the List object contains some reference in a table
where the feature name can be found.

You might want to check out the new vpfserver that is in the latest
version of OpenMap. Its a servlet that navigates through the VPF files
and directories, showing what the contents are and how they
cross-reference other file tables. It's a big help in understanding
where all that information is in the database. Instructions are
included in the openmap/src/vpfserver directory.
