This is a really weird problem. What I have done was replace my 4.5.3 openmap.jar with the 4.6 jar and begun working out the compatibility bugs. The jar file definitely has the .gifs in the appropriate package and I don't have any other openmap.jars in my classpath. When I figure it out I will update the thread, there must be something being overlooked on my end. Thanks.

Hi Lonnie,
I would check to make sure that the gifs that the MouseModes would look
for are actually in the com.bbn.openmap.event package (Distance.gif and
Navigate.gif) in the classpath, not just with the source code. Is
there an old openmap path in your classpath?
