hi Don,
The last error was arising since i had by mistake added the plugin to
openmap.layers. i just removed that from that list and the error was
gone.but i still cant load the file. i get the following errors now

 *** ERROR ***
ShapeLayer SpatialIndex: problem setting up the shape files:
      shape file: data/shape/vmap_edge.shp
     spatial index file: data/shape/vmap_edge.ssx
*************

*** ERROR ***
ShapeLayer SpatialIndex: problem setting up the shape files:
      shape file: data/shape/vmap_area.shp
     spatial index file: data/shape/vmap_area.ssx
.Where am i going wrong can u please tell me. i have not made any other
changes other than than adding the image to the openmap properties file.
I have attached the openmap.properties file with this mail .Please go
through it and tell me where am i going wrong.
