Hi Chris,
Do you need to make a shape file for some reason? You can store the
list of lat/lon data points in a csv file and then use the
com.bbn.openmap.layer.location.LocationLayer with a
com.bbn.openmap.layer.location.csv.CSVLocationHandler.
There's an example of this in the openmap.properties file.
