afaik you must do at the mouseklick

    OMGraphic selectedOMGraphic = OMGraphicList.selectClosest(int x, int y);
    mapBean.repaint();

if i implement these functions means not the depricated one i can see the image selected......
i wiill call the repaint on the mouse click

ok tell me when the select() is to be set on the OMGraphic when it is created or on the mouse click

Hi Harpreet,

the SelectColor is used if the map is paint an the OMGraphic objects is selected.
If you select an object you can call MapBean.repaint() to see the changes.
BTW you should use setSelectPaint() because set[Select]Color is deprecated.
The advantage is you can set an image which is used as a texture.
