[OpenMap Users] Newbie questions

        Hey all, I am a first-time openmap user, and I am trying to do the
following:

        Create a JPG image containing a map, given a set of LONG/LAT
co-ordinates. I am trying to do this programmatically via another java
class, so I can totally bypass all the swing stuff. I'm not really sure
where to start since it seems all the example classes are totally reliant
upon the swing GUI... Any help appreciated, and I am willing to take this
discussion off list if there is someone willing to have a more substantial
dialog with me about this app. Thanks for any help!
