Sure, but why use Javascript when there is a perfectly fine (and
simpler) method that works with straight HTML?

Concerning the projection parameters, I also encode them in the URL of
the image so they get passed back to the server. This is done on the
server through a taglib. Additionnaly, the url is encoded/decoded in
base64 so the user only sees some big fat mangled URL and doesn't try to
modify it. I tried to encrypt it, but it is too small...
