Hey, I can answer this one!
I found the Location layer very easy to use for displaying images at
locations. The CSVLocationHandler is very easy. Just put the path of the
image file in your CSV data and set the iconIndex property in
openmap.properties. The DBLocationHandler is also fairly easy; however, the
images are handled slightly differently. The code should explain it better
than I.
Since there are several similarities in what we are trying to do, I suspect
our objective is the same: displaying military symbols? I asked earlier if
there was an existing class for this. I received a "maybe" answer from
several people, but no one produced a class.
If warfighting icons are your objective, I have decided that the easiest
approach is to use Tom Mouat's MapSymbs from http://www.mapsymbs.com. It is
a TrueType font that allows easy warfighting symbol creation. I am planning
to write an OMGraphic extension class using this next week (if I get the
time). Let me know if interested.

or .jpg images. I have a .jpg and I know the geographic coordinates for the
corners, is there any way of using this?
