Houda ,
Oops. My Mistake. I am working with two different libraries on my project
and just noted I sent you info for VisAD and not OpenMap. I suppose you
must be using VisAD too since you did not catch my error. The library
should be named OpenMap and not VisAd and the jar file should be openmap.jar
and not visad.jar.
Though I assume you did the substitution since you are trying to get OpenMap
to work and not visad.
I just created a new project and added the openmap.jar file and then set the
application to run using the Project Properties menus Run/Application Tab.
I set the main class to com.bbn.openmap.app.OpenMap and it ran. Though I
had to modify the openmap.properties file in my user directory to have it
find the shapeFile and spatialIndex file for the political boundaries. It
also works if you can simply copy the data directory to your project
directory for this project. I tried making the data a jar file and using it
as a library, but JBuilder gave me an error that there was No new Source,
Documentation or class paths were found. There should be some mechanism to
do this.
Also if you are just trying to run the OpenMap application and modify it
using the openmap.properties file, have tried using the openmap.bat file in
the bin directory. If you did this and received the error Exception in
thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/bbn/openmap/app/OpenMap,
it is because you need to make sure that the line:
set OPENMAP_HOME=..
is set properly.
The line:
set
CLASSPATH=%OPENMAP_HOME%\classes\openmap;%OPENMAP_HOME%\share;%OPENMAP_HOME%
\lib\openmap.jar;
should already be fine.
If you run openmap.bat from the bin directory. And the lines in your bat
file are like above, you should be set.
Luke
