Hi Lonnie,
The warehouse is the thing that controls rendering, so that's the thing
you should be asking for the rendering properties. The warehouse
should implement the PropertyConsumer interface so you can ask it for
it's properties - unfortunately, it's not now, but will be upgraded in
a future version as part of an effort to upgrade the VPFLayer to be a
good PropertyConsumer itself. The RPFLayer, which is a good
PropertyConsumer, has sub-components that are also good
PropertyConsumers which can answer those types of queries. I think the
VPFLayer package components should follow that example.
I don't have a time estimation for when the upgrades to the VPFLayer
will be implemented, but there are many things that could be done for
the layer to make it more user-friendly, and more interactive for
configuration and feature filtering.
