Indeed, there are several ways.  One way is to use OMGrid and ContourLineGenerator (see com.bbn.omGraphics.grid.*).  This technique creates an OMRaster from gridded data, i.e. it colors individual pixels.

What we do instead here at Dot21is to generate sets of isoline points using CONREC and then display the results as filled semi-transparent OMPolys.
