[OpenMap Users] LabelLayer and the entire concept of "Layer"

Hello!

I am trying to create a simple layer with text labels sitting on top of it.
I first tried to create one labellayer and then setLabelText and
positionText where I wanted it. That did not work. I got one label instead
of the six that i wanted. Then I tried to create one LabelLayer then six
other LabelLayers with the text on top of them, my thoughts being that i
could attach the six labellayers to the remaining labellayer. that produced
nothing.
could you help me out? i'd really appreciate it.
