Mapping Books?

Anyone have any good recommendations on computer mapping texts?
specificaly I am looking into projection systems and data formats but
I'd like a general overview as well... I have read some internet
sources, and more of those would be helpful too. But I seem to have hit
the internet information brick wall. You guys seem like the types who
would know what I was looking for.
