Mike,

Yes, and it doesn't meet our needs. We need it scaled to the current "view"
of the map, be it one site, or the world.
Better yet would be some sort of "selection" capability to dump selected
items or perhaps selected data layers, scaled to the maximum extent of the
selection or layer.

Maybe Don Dietrick can help us out here?

Regards

John Pearson

All,

I found out that the OpenMap software uses the entire world for the
extents. It doesn't seem to be something we can modify at this point. Is
this the behaviour that you are seeing?

Lothar Deil is looking at these and at the second set Mike sent. When we
open them in Arcview, they are real small (like dots), and need to be
zoomed
in on. Don't know if this is to be expected by using the Openmap routine
to
generate shapefiles. It seems like you'll need be zoomed in to a site
before you generate the files if you only want 1 radar in the extent. In
other words it seems that if you have a large map area in view, with only 1
radar site (object) on the "map", when you dump the file it dumps based on
the size (or extent) of the map being displayed.

Mike/Bill is this correct?

John,

Can we get JT or Lodar or someone to look at these ESRI shape files and
give
us some feedback. If you want this capability in the next release of IMOM,
we need to give Mike some feedback soon.

Rolfe, Rod,

I haven't heard from you regarding the sample shapefiles I sent. So maybe
there was a problem with my first email. So... attached is another zip file
with the requested altitudes for a sample radar in Korea. Take a look at
these and let me know... You'll see the naming convention when you open the
zip. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. As
always this is a bogus radar, all UNCLASS.

Mike
