dbf file and ToolTips

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie with OpenMap. I use it to display maps in shapefile format. I
want to display tooltips on the map.
The informations displayed in the tooltips will be got from the dbf file.
Until now I didn't understand how to read the dbf file with OpenMap. After a
look in the mailing list archives I think OpenMap can't read the dbf file
and I have to convert my dbf file in a csv file using excel. It is right ?
Then how can I use the csv file to get tooltips containing the data from a
column of the csv file ?
