DBF jdbc driver

Hi all,

I've written a new class derived from EsriPlugin (the last one, in which
popup's are displayed with the content of the DBF record associated with
a given shape).
I need to be able to edit the content of these records. It is relatively
simple to write a dialog with a listbox to do that and to update the
DbfTableModel, but nothing seems to exist to update the record in the
DBF file.

I did it through a SQL statement (something like "update table set x=y,
z=w where recno() = graphicIndex+1") using a jdbc driver found on
http://www.hxtt.net/jdbc/

Does anyone know this driver? I don't know the exact status of the stuff
(free for education, reasonable fee for commercial use...), and it is
not open source.

Anyway, I thing this driver (that doesn't need other stuff in order to
work, unlike some well known "universal" odbc-jdbc drivers) could be
very interesting in OpenMap, as one could embed all kinds of SQL queries
on OpenMap Esri layers...

May be the conceptors of OpenMap could contact the author of the driver
to see if it could become open-source, or at least freely distributed
with OpenMap....
