OpenLabel is an open source map labelling toolkit that is fully
integrated with BBN Technologies' OpenMap product.

The accurate, unambiguous and aesthetic placement of labels is an
essential component of the professional, well-designed map. OpenLabel
is a fast, easy to use tool driven by a sophisticated optimization
engine, which places labels automatically in full conformance with
applicable cartographic specifications and conventions - without
overlap, without ambiguity, and with a high degree of aesthetic quality.
