It occurs to me that there might be some OpenMappers out there who
would like to submit abstracts. It's also a good place to learn about
other people's work in a very informal setting. You don't have to
present a paper or do a demo to attend. It's a friendly crowd, too.

of weeks.
The EOGEO 2002 will be outside Milan, Italy. Great place to be in May!

Call for Papers
EOGEO 2002

EOGEO is a workshop for developers of Geospatial data services
over the Web. It covers a wide field of applications from Earth
Observation to local GIS systems. The common themes are Web
based solutions to resource discovery, interoperable data access,
distributed data services and data fusion.
EOGEO is an international event started by the Committee for
Earth Observation Satellites - CEOS in 1995. It has run annually
since then, attracting key developers from around the world.
This year EOGEO is to be held in Northern Italy at the
Joint Research Centre, Ispra. Ispra is close to Lago Maggiori,
just north of Milan. There will be no registration fee. Hotel
accomodation can be organsied by the hosts following a registration
process.
The workshop will cover latest developments and techniques applied
to Geospatial systems. Examples are :
OGC related Web Mapping standards, GML, Web Geo-Services
SOAP, XML-RPC, JAVA, distributed services on the Web
RDF, Ontologies, Gazetteers, Catalog services, Resource Discovery
Location services, Mobile systems
The workshop will consist of a mixture of presentation sessions, and
poster/demonstrations sessions. The hands-on demonstrations are an
important part of EOGEO. Full oral presentations are usually intended
for general technical issues of wider interest, while the demonstrations
are suitable for work in progress on projects. Authors should indicate
which type of contribution they would prefer.
