GIS conversion utils?

        Hey folks --
        I'm going nuts trying to find a conversion utility
        that will build ESRI .shp files from ArcInfo export (.e00)
        or CAD (.dxf) files. Anybody know of something
        that'll accomplish this for me?

PS: Yes, I realize I could pretty easily write something
     using OpenMap that would do this conversion. However,
     I'd like to avoid going to the trouble if I can.
