How-To use TerrainLayer and ProfileGenerator

Hi,

Is there anybody who has an example or knows of an example on how
to use the TerrainLayer and the ProfileGenerator?

>From the API documentation I concluded I need to create a layer of
type TerrainLayer. I think I can do this, never done before...
But then how do I make use of the ProfileGenerator.

Any help is highly appreciated.
