I'm woriking for the Maneuver Control System (MCS) which is part of the Army Battle

Command System (ABCS). Generally we track troop movements across the battlefield.
We also maintain Situational Awareness and assist in Planning Operations. We are
also responsible for receiving live updates from the battlefield. Currently we are
working
with a mapping product called the Joint Mapping Toolkit (JMTK), which is written in
C.

I have been trying to get our project to migrate to a Pure Java implementation
using OpenMap. So, lately I've been using OpenMap to build a few demonstrations
displaying
it's capabilities and performace. My deomstrations have been pretty seccessful in
proving
Java's performance capabilities and its scalability. OpenMap has been a key
element in planning
the Army's future digitized battelfield software.
