Problem with creation of SpatialIndex(ssx) file for Shape file co ntaining Polyline/Arc shapetypes

Hi,

I have a shape file named lat_long_gross.shp which contains shapetype
-Polyline.
I tried creating the ssx file using
java com.bbn.openmap.layer.shape.SpatialIndex -c lat_long_gross.ssx
lat_long_gross.shp and the output is:

Shapefile SpatialIndex increasing recBuffSize to 15073510
Shapefile SpatialIndex Found 1 records
Shapefile SpatialIndex recBufSize = 15073510

This created a ssx file with only one record.Tried displaying the
recLengthwords field, it gives 6684770.

And also the output of using
java com.bbn.openmap.layer.shape.Spatialndex -d -b lat_long_gross.ssx

is Record 1:50,7536755;38,999999999015785,
-9.999999999791404,39.99999999586537,-9.999999999306624.

SpatialIndex.java has uses indexPolygons method even for Shapetype
Polyline/Arc .So creation of
index file does not support shapefile containing Polyline/Arc .Please
clarify. Enclosing the shapefile for
