Thanks - this is actually something else we had considered, but would
require more modification to our existent setup. I'm going to leave the
responsibility for listening to events with the layers, who will then pass
the results from the click to the SelectionManager to deal with. Since
there's no real modification of the graphics going on - it's purely
selecting data to display in another window - this should work just as well.
