use this
java com.bbn.openmap.layer.shape.SpatialIndex -c data.ssx data.shp
it converts .ssx file to its equivalent .shp file

bn.com Subject: Using my own shape file
12/10/01 10:50 AM
hi,
I am trying to use my own shape files to be displayed on omapplet.
But i see that by default the shape index file has an extension of .ssx.
But when i used a universal convertor from .tab to .shp files i get
an shp, .shx and a .dbf files and no .ssx files.is it valid to use my
.shx file as an index file or shd i alter something. i tried renaming
my .shx to .ssx but the map isnt displayed then.
Any help on converting my .shx to .ssx file.??
thankx in adv.
