Yes, you can, by instantiating the Mercator class.
Do you want to plot the points on a map, or just translate the decimal
degree coordinates to Mercator coordinates? If you just want to
translate the coordinates so that they map to another Mercator map, then
you might have to play around with the 'scale' of the Mercator
projection you create. It's a relative term that doesn't have much
meaning outside of OpenMap, but definitely will affect the values of the
translated coordinates.
