I'll cautiously venture a suggestion here ....

we also had needs to draw objects other than rectangles or elipses. The
OMPoly class in the omGraphics package got us a fair bit down our required
path. We'll look at subclassing this class to specifically draw other
canned shapes. For your task, if OMPoly won't do it, you may want to
subclass OMCircle and override the appropriate methods.
