I have a requirement to export shapefiles from my OpenMap driven program to
another system that is being written using (gasp) Map Objects from ESRI.
What I have done is use the VMAP2Shape class to write the shp file itself,
then use the SpatialIndex.createIndex method to create the index file that
OpenMap uses, and this works fine within the context of OpenMap.
The problem is that Map Objects (I am testing with Arc Explorer) cannot read
the shapefile produced. It first complains that the dbf file does not exist,
then complains that the index is not valid.
Does anyone know how I can export a set of OMGraphic objects from OpenMap
into a shapefile format that is both complete and readable by ESRI products?
Thanks,
Karl...
