Re: pan solution

Hi,
here's my two cents. I occasionally make use of the map overview layer,
but I find it annoying in that it is in a separate window and so is
often hidden by the regular map. I keep wanting to explore making it
a permanent part of the main window, by sticking it right on top of the
real map, say in the upper left corner. There may already by a way
to do this, but as I said, I haven't really done any digging on
this feature.

then panning around could be done by dragging the square in the
overview layer, without having to click and wait, click and wait
or zoom out, recenter, zoom in as I do now.

my two cents,
james
