Hi Christof,
That's kind of what OMRaster.setImageFilter() was intended to do. I
haven't looked at the JAI package yet to see if there's a way to use it
for projection warping.
There is another goal to work toward: it would be great to modify
OpenMap to be able to handle other projection definitions, including
non-OpenMap projections. Then, the WMSPlugIn could ask the server for a
SRS that matches the projection the MapBean is using.
If the map server and OpenMap couldn't agree on the projection that
OpenMap was using, then some image transformation could be performed on
the image that the map server *could* provide, and then do the JAI thing
if that's possible.
Something to think about, definitely.
